The condition has worsened over the last two years, and I have a temporary denture. I am interested in a solution with dental implants. As for the superstructure, I would be satisfied with the minimum recommended solution, because given the current course it will probably be necessary to repeat the procedure on the other side as well. Please give me your opinion.

The basic program for stabilizing a subtotal denture includes placement of two implants in the front (position 2 or 3) and fabrication of a denture with a cast base; if the teeth on the lower left are lost in the future, the denture could be upgraded (modified). Price of the described work:
-750 Eur (implant) X 2 = 1500 Eur.
-900 Eur (denture with a cast base) X 1 = 900 Eur.

The condition you describe resembles acute inflammation of the interdental gum, most often caused by the presence of plaque and bacteria in this area. The condition is almost certainly not related to a draft. Clean and massage the area between the two teeth with an interdental brush. The gum will probably bleed heavily when you do this, at least for a few days. In due course it would be advisable to visit a dentist and perhaps have an X-ray taken.

Hello, I am writing to you because I am becoming somewhat desperate. A month ago my personal dentist extracted the upper left 2 and made an acrylic temporary bridge attached to the 3 (which I of course had to pay 64 Eur for), and it fell off the very next day. After it was re-cemented, it held for a good two weeks, when I had to go to the emergency dentist to have it temporarily cemented again. It also turned out that the acrylic crown on the 3, to which the bridge is attached, already has a proper hole in it; of course I had to pay for the re-cementing, and now after 5 days it has loosened again. My dentist is on holiday until the end of August. I really no longer know what to do. Am I now supposed to go to the emergency dentist every 5 days and pay for less than five minutes of work that will loosen again anyway? I should also mention that I do not even dare look at more solid food, let alone eat it, because my job involves constant contact with people and I cannot have a gap. I really do not know what to do, because I have to wait at least half a year for a fixed bridge, and what if the same happens with that one. My other teeth are in order, but I am still completely disappointed by how dentistry works here: you pay for sloppy work….

Dear Sir/Madam!
We solve the situation you describe with a removable temporary replacement (mini denture), which you remove at night and while cleaning your teeth. Cementing a replacement to the neighboring teeth is most often unsuccessful. You have two permanent solutions:
-making a bridge, which is the standard doctrinal solution but is radical, because the neighboring teeth have to be ground down (price; 210 X 3 = 630 Eur)
-placement of an implant, which is certainly the better solution because the neighboring teeth do not have to be ground down (price; 750 Eur (implant) + 420 Eur (crown on the implant).
The price of the temporary replacement and all accompanying procedures are included in the stated price. Every replacement has a warranty (including a temporary one)
I hope you will resolve your problem soon.

Since treatment with her was unsuccessful, she referred me to a specialist, who says that even if treatment with him succeeds, the inflammation may recur within two years and the tooth will then have to be extracted.
I would like to know whether I can decide myself to have the tooth extracted, because I no longer want to endure painful cleaning of the canals and then take the risk of when the disease might recur. If the tooth were removed, I would like to know what replacement you would recommend. Would an implant be suitable?
Kind regards!

A year ago I had severe inflammation of the gums and teeth, and now pain is occurring around the root system. In an article by a renowned dentist I read that chronic inflammation does not necessarily show on an X-ray. I would like to know your opinion, and I would also like to know how chronic inflammation can be confirmed and how it is treated. Is deep laser treatment of the root system of the teeth and gums possible?
Thank you for your answer.

Dear Sir/Madam!
An X-ray shows changes in hard tissues, that is, tissues that have the property of absorbing X-rays. In the case in question, an X-ray could show changes in the bone or hard dental tissues, but this is not always the case. Inflammatory changes in the periodontal tissues become visible in the bone at a later stage; before that, they may be demonstrable only clinically. In the case of dental diseases (caries), some carious lesions do not appear on an X-ray at all, even though they can already be diagnosed in the mouth, and vice versa.
Recently, laser-assisted root-canal treatment has been gaining ground. It is based on additional disinfection of the root canals through the action of substances activated by laser light. We specifically use the Helbo, Bredent laser, which has so far proved to be a relatively effective aid.
