I would like to know how much the entire treatment would cost — from extraction of the teeth to placement of implants and fabrication of the denture. I would also like to know whether part of it, for example fabrication of the denture, could be covered by supplementary health insurance. Today I had a panoramic X-ray of my entire dentition taken.

Dear Sir/Madam!
I have a problem with diastema both in the upper and lower jaw. What bothers me most is the diastema between the incisors (terribly obvious). I have already considered orthodontic treatment, but unfortunately I do not know whether it is possible given that I had an implant placed in the lower first molar region (it was necessary). At the moment I am still gathering information. I have heard about so-called dental veneers, but I am somewhat skeptical about their lifespan, the issue of grinding healthy teeth, etc. What is actually the difference between these all-ceramic crowns and veneers? I should mention that I would have only the upper central incisors corrected, perhaps also the lateral incisors. What do you think would be most beneficial in my situation? How much does the first consultation with you cost, and is payment in installments possible?
Thank you very much for the information.

Dear Sir/Madam!
In the situation described, we would definitely first recommend orthodontic therapy, as it is non-radical. The implant in the first molar region does not change this fact. If for certain reasons you decide against braces, the condition can be corrected with aesthetic veneers. A solution with ceramic crowns is also possible. To make a veneer, a layer of enamel needs to be removed from the front; this is not the case with a dental crown, where the tooth is actually prepared all around and the artificial crown is placed over the prepared stump. The crown procedure is much more radical and is indicated when the tooth is more severely damaged (filled, carious). I can provide a more precise answer after a clinical examination, which is free of charge. Payment in installments is possible.

I would like to ask the following. My tooth (upper left second premolar) had only partially erupted and was also turned somewhat sideways toward the inside of the oral cavity. Recently I had a crown made because the appearance of the tooth was really bothering me. They ground down the lower side of the tooth and made a crown. I really like the appearance now, but the problem is that on the inner side I can feel the tooth as though I constantly have something in my mouth. I assumed I would get used to the tooth within a few days, but even after a week it was no better. I went back to the dentist where the crown was made, but they told me this was normal and that the crown had been made according to the impression. I assume they should also have ground down the inner side because the tooth had erupted somewhat sideways? In short, I do not know what I can do. The tooth bothers me a lot on the inner side; I keep touching it with my tongue. What do you advise? Thank you very much for your answer.

Dear Sir/Madam!
When the tooth was prepared for the crown, priority was given to preserving the dental pulp; in other words, a tooth can only be ground down to a certain limit. Otherwise we expose (damage) the center of the tooth, which is followed by devitalization and all the potential problems associated with it. From what you have written, it follows that the original position or inclination of the tooth cannot be changed at will; therefore the position of the tooth still bothers you. If the disturbance cannot be accepted, it is necessary to devitalize the tooth and, of course, accept the fact that after the procedure the tooth will be permanently non-vital, which ultimately may bring numerous complications if root canal treatment is not successful.

Dear Sir/Madam!
If the other conditions (size and shape of the bony ridges) are sufficient for denture stability, it is also possible in this case to make a denture with a reduced palatal plate. The remaining two teeth are most often prepared (two crowns carrying a precision attachment are made), which contributes substantially to greater stability of the denture. If there are still too few retention elements, we can add at least one implant on the other side of the dental arch. The implant carries a ball attachment that additionally fixes the denture in the desired position.

Dear Dr Rotar!
My problem is the following... Since childhood my upper teeth have been very widely spaced, so I have about a 3 mm gap between the front teeth and also 5-6 mm between the back teeth. This did not bother me until I decided that I might get fixed braces... Now I would like to know whether you could help me with my decision and whether this is possible at all, because I know many people who had fixed braces but all of them had teeth overlapping one another. Mine are the opposite: my teeth are very widely spaced and are not all the same size (I think tooth 4 is very small and I am worried about how things will look when all the teeth are brought together)... I would also like to know whether my teeth have to be "healthy" before treatment by the chosen orthodontist, or whether a filling can be placed if necessary, and whether I also need panoramic X-rays of the teeth? What do you think about pregnancy and wearing fixed braces? I would have all this done abroad (because it is less expensive than here), so I would also like your professional opinion about that.
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Kind regards

Dear Sir/Madam! Orthodontic therapy is certainly the first treatment of choice for the condition described. The specialist will want the dentition to be in good order and treated before therapy begins. Pregnancy does not affect orthodontic therapy.

Dear Sir/Madam,
because of heart surgery, despite having had my teeth treated (poor root filling), teeth 17, 26 and 27 had to be removed because of inflammatory foci.
At the dental clinic in Ljubljana, the maxillofacial surgeon told me that I should change my dentist.
Now I would like to replace the teeth, but I do not understand where a bridge could be fixed if the last teeth on both sides of the upper jaw are missing.
I thought about replacing them with implants, but because of cardiac arrhythmia and Marevan this is not an option.
Aesthetically it does not bother me because it is not visible, but I am aware of the importance of having properly treated teeth, especially for patients like us who have a congenital heart defect or have undergone heart surgery.
What can you suggest given the condition described?
Thank you and kind regards!

The wisdom teeth on both sides are good, only teeth 5, 6 and 7 are missing on each side. The existing construction has started to become loose and move away from the gum. I would like to know whether, since more than 7 years have passed, the insurance company covers replacement of the construction with facings, and whether an additional payment is required to make a new construction with facings for the entire upper row? Or what do you suggest and what would be the price of an alternative solution? Thank you for your answer!

I would like to ask about veneers. My front teeth are crooked (both upper and lower), they protrude slightly forward, and my incisors are larger than the other teeth. This has bothered me since childhood and I would like to correct it (eight teeth). I would like to know whether this can be corrected with veneers or only with braces? How much would it cost? Is payment in installments possible? How much does tooth whitening cost?

Dear Sir/Madam!
An irregular tooth position most often requires orthodontic therapy (braces). The therapy does not damage the teeth (they do not need to be prepared) and places them in a correct and aesthetic position. If, in addition to their position, other factors are also disturbing (shape, color...), aesthetic veneers can be made. The price of one veneer is 350 Eur. The price of whitening is 270 Eur. Payment in several installments is possible.
