Dear Sir/Madam! Whitening the other teeth is of course possible. The question is how well the new tooth colour will match the already made artificial dental crowns, which can ultimately be replaced. Have a nice day!

Hello,
I am 21 years old and have some problems with my teeth. All of a sudden I started having pain in the upper left first premolar. The pain is sudden and short, but very unpleasant. I have the feeling that it comes from the interdental space between the first and second premolars. On inspection the tooth (first premolar) looks completely healthy; only some "lines" can be seen on the "crown". Is it possible that some disease process has started in the tooth? What do you think could be happening to my tooth?
Thank you for your answers and kind regards.

The clinical sign is certainly worth attention: it may only be a hypersensitive area at the tooth neck in the interdental space, which can be alleviated with special coatings. However, tooth sensitivity may also be a sign of caries in the interdental space, which can be diagnosed with an X-ray if it is not yet visible.

Hello,
I am 39 years old and have periodontitis. Six years ago (after my third childbirth) my gums began to swell severely and then crack. Despite several years of visits to a periodontist, it has progressed to the point that individual teeth (4) are very loose and are slowly moving out of the jaw. I have already agreed with my dentist on extraction and making a bridge. She will extract three lower front teeth. I would like to know what the difference is between a bridge with ceramic and ordinary teeth in terms of quality and price. Approximately how much does a bridge with ceramic versus ordinary teeth cost? Apparently there is a fixed and a removable bridge. Which do you recommend more (for example because of cleaning, appearance, usability)? What can happen to the bridge if periodontal disease progresses?
Thank you for your answers and kind regards

Dear Sir/Madam!
The difference between individual artificial crowns is aesthetic and functional (wear, fracture resistance, hardness, possibility of discoloration...) and of course improves from veneered to metal-ceramic and all-ceramic crowns. The price of individual crowns is: - metal-ceramic EUR 210 per unit - all-ceramic EUR 350 per unit. The durability of a bridge is of course conditioned by the condition of the abutment teeth (periodontal disease). If you are satisfied with removable prosthetics (a removable denture), prices can be considerably lower, but the functionality of such a replacement is much poorer: instability of the prosthesis results in poorer function...

Dear Sir/Madam!
I currently wear a removable upper clasp denture, supported with attachments on the right side on the central incisor, lateral incisor, canine and first molar. I also still have the second molar on the right; on the left I have no teeth. The right first molar occasionally hurts and is very sensitive to cold or heat. Because I have to speak a lot at work (I am a teacher), the lisping bothers me, and it has increased with the denture. I would like to know whether a denture with snap attachments would be more suitable and what the price would be. I am also considering implants. What is the minimum number that would be needed and, of course, how much would it cost? I am 56 years old, take no medication, and have been without teeth on the left for 15 years. How quickly could I get a denture with snap attachments, and how long would implant treatment take?
Thank you sincerely for your answer and kind regards.
Thank you very much for your answer.

Dear Sir/Madam!
A denture affects articulation through the shape and position of the palatal plate. A denture with precision attachments (joints) would not change the way palatal sounds are formed. The attachments improve denture stability and appearance (there are no metal clasps). It is difficult to predict the exact price because it depends mainly on the number of metal-ceramic crowns that carry the attachments: - EUR 900 (denture with cast base) - EUR 250 (attachment) - EUR 210 (metal-ceramic crown). Implants are certainly the best solution for the problem described because they allow rehabilitation with a fixed prosthetic restoration (bridge). The price depends on the number of implants and crowns on implants. The first method of treatment is completed in approximately three weeks. Treatment with implants usually requires more time because the implants need a certain period for osseointegration (integration with the bone) before they can be loaded with a fixed prosthetic restoration. The period depends on the quantity and quality of bone (from 0 to 8 months).

Hello Dr Tomaž,
I have a problem with my upper central incisor. My dentist determined that it is periodontitis and that it is too late for treatment because the tooth is already very loose and has pulled away from the gum. The gum itself has also receded upwards. She suggested a bridge, but I am not entirely convinced because the adjacent central and lateral incisors are healthy. I would ask you to describe the procedure for placing a bridge. The tooth is extracted, then what? How long do I have to be without a tooth (if at all), because with a front tooth it is rather awkward. Do I get a temporary tooth and how long do I have to wear it? Of course, finally I would also like to know the price of a bridge or an implant.
Thank you for your answer and kind regards,
Patricia

After the tooth is extracted, we can relatively quickly proceed to reshaping (preparing) the abutment teeth (the adjacent central and lateral incisors). After preparation, we place a temporary restoration. One week later you receive the final restoration. Price of the bridge: - EUR 210 (metal-ceramic) X 3 = EUR 630. Price of the implant: - EUR 750 (implant without bone augmentation) + EUR 420 (crown on implant) = EUR 1170.

I have the feeling that the area where the tooth was removed has started to suppurate. Dear Sir/Madam!
My previous school dentist was the dentist I last saw when I was 18. When I called her once at the end of May to make an appointment, she told me that she could no longer help me and that I should find another dentist because I was already too old to be treated by her (I am almost 23), even though I am still in school and have student status, which seems a little strange to me.
Now I have the following problem: I come from Novo mesto and cannot find a dentist who is accepting patients. Everyone I called said they were full and were not taking new patients, but that I could come as a self-paying patient. Is it really possible that my only solution is to go as a self-paying patient, or can I do something else?
If there is no other solution, I would like to know approximately how much it would cost if I go to a dentist as a self-paying patient.
My problems:
I have one tooth that used to hurt but no longer does, and then it slowly started to crumble or break apart; about one fifth is missing (upper left first molar).
I also have one tooth with a hole on top (upper right second premolar, occasional pain).
And three teeth with fairly large holes between the teeth where they touch, so far without pain (upper left lateral incisor, upper right lateral incisor and upper left canine).
Thank you for your answer and kind regards,
Matej

Dear Sir/Madam!
Based on what you have written, I believe there is caries on five teeth, although the extent of the disease naturally differs from tooth to tooth. If the defects can be restored with fillings, prices are approximately EUR 40 to 65 per filling, depending on the number of surfaces and the material (composite, amalgam). If the caries has also affected the dental pulp, additional root canal treatment is required (EUR 50 per session; two to three sessions are required). If the defect in the crown is so large that it can no longer be restored with a filling, an artificial dental crown must be made (EUR 210: metal-ceramic; EUR 350: ceramic-Zircon).

Will it cause problems? A bridge will soon be placed over this tooth. According to the doctor, the material should break down on its own after some time. I have some doubts about that.
Is it possible to remove this filling even after a longer period and replace it with a new one?
Kind regards and thank you.

Dear Sir/Madam! Any filling can certainly be corrected or removed. It is also true that material that has extruded beyond the root tip can resorb by itself. I believe the finding will not cause problems with your tooth. Have a nice day!

Dear Sir/Madam!
From what you have written, I believe we can keep the crown on one of the abutment teeth. The missing tooth and the tooth that would need to be extracted can be replaced with one implant carrying the two missing crowns (stability is sufficient at the location described). The price of the procedure would therefore be: - EUR 750 (implant) - EUR 420 (crown on implant) - EUR 210 (pontic/cantilever unit) - total: EUR 1380.
