I am 53 years old and my teeth are becoming increasingly dark, although I do not smoke and drink coffee only occasionally. The recession of the gums from the teeth and the gaps between the teeth are also becoming increasingly noticeable. Otherwise I maintain regular oral hygiene and visit the dentist fairly regularly.
I have already tried to “whiten” my enamel under professional dental supervision (the dentist was not enthusiastic about my wish to bleach!), but I did not complete the procedure because I experienced severe sensitivity and was also afraid of permanent enamel damage.
Kind regards,
Mojca

Dear Sir/Madam!
Teeth become darker over time, which may be due to deposits accumulating on the surface of the enamel or to changes in the structure of the enamel. With age, enamel matures and its quality (density, organisation of crystals...) improves, which means greater resistance to carious processes, but at the same time greater translucency, which means that the colour of the dentine (dark brown) shows through the enamel more strongly. Removing surface deposits is fairly simple, but if we want to change the structure itself, bleaching is of course necessary (a change in the organisation of crystals in the superficial enamel layer), which also represents a certain chemical injury.
If your teeth are moving apart and the clinical crowns are becoming longer, periodontal disease should certainly be considered. I recommend X-ray diagnostics.

The best solution is placement of one or more dental implants. In principle, it is sufficient to replace only the first molar, for which you need one dental implant. If you also want the second molar replaced, then two implants are needed. Price:
-EUR 750 (implant) X 1 = EUR 750
-EUR 420 (crown on implant) X 1 = EUR 420
Thus the total for one tooth is EUR 1170.
The price includes all materials and procedures from the beginning to the final result.

On Tuesday, 10 March 2015, a dead root (lower left second premolar) that had remained in the gum after extraction of a cracked tooth was surgically removed. The root was already quite decayed and a granuloma was present. The procedure was quite “butchering” and not very aesthetic, as the surgeon cut away almost half of the gum on the outer side. I also received sutures.
I would like to know whether I could even have an implant placed, given that so much gum is missing. I am still relatively young (29 years old) and I am afraid that the remaining teeth might start moving apart towards the area where the tooth was. Will this part of the gum ever heal or will this large opening remain?
Thank you for your answer.
Kind regards,
Maša

Dear Sir/Madam! If the bone defect is large, the missing bone mass can be augmented. The procedure can be carried out at the same time as implantation or beforehand. For a more precise answer I would need to see at least an X-ray. Have a nice day!

Years ago I had a bicycle accident in which I injured the upper right lateral incisor. My dentist and I have now treated it twice. Unfortunately, a lesion is visible on the X-ray.
The dentist decided not to extract the tooth. We have now placed a post in the tooth and a new ceramic crown connected to the central incisor.
The tooth itself does not hurt, but occasionally on the palate I feel that something is not quite right with the root. What I feel is not pain, but a very strange sensation, perhaps slightly stinging, which alerts me that there is something at this root.
I have read quite a lot on websites and supposedly even roots of non-vital teeth where a lesion is visible can be saved.
I would like to know whether this is possible, in what way, what the price is and how long the waiting time is.
Kind regards,
Ksenja

Dear Sir/Madam! Given that the tooth has been restored with a post and crown, the most likely only solution is an apicoectomy, i.e. removal of the root tip. The price of the procedure is EUR 90. We try to adapt the waiting time to the nature of the problem. Have a nice day!

Dear Sir/Madam!
There are two fixed-prosthetic solutions:
1. placement of a dental implant
2. fabrication of a conventional bridge
1. A dental implant can be placed immediately after extraction of the tooth or after a delay (depending on the condition of the bone). After placement we usually wait three to four months before fitting the dental crown (in certain cases the implant can be loaded immediately). Throughout the treatment you wear a temporary replacement.
2. Fabrication of a bridge can begin immediately after extraction of the tooth. The bridge is made in approximately ten days. In this case too, you wear a temporary replacement.
