Hello, as a child I wore braces only on the upper teeth, not on the lower ones - I lost them - which has resulted in quite crooked lower central and lateral incisors .The teeth are slightly rotated and not aligned. Otherwise my teeth are well maintained and I have everything treated as needed. I am 50 and am not considering braces. I think that over the years the lower teeth have become increasingly crowded. What could be done for a more aesthetic appearance? Fortunately, when I speak or laugh, my lower lip does not expose too many teeth. Thank you for your answer. Simona

Dear Sir/Madam!
The textbook solution is certainly treatment with an orthodontic appliance. If for personal reasons you do not choose this option, fixed prosthetic aesthetic solutions are available:
-fabrication of aesthetic veneers; minimally invasive preparation of hard dental tissues, excellent aesthetic results.
-fabrication of all-ceramic crowns if the defects and correction of the shape and position of the teeth are too extensive to be corrected with veneers; preparation of hard tissues is more extensive, but the solution provides excellent aesthetic results.

I suggest a solution with four implants and a denture without a palatal plate. All implants are placed at the same time. After the procedure we wait approximately four months before making the final denture. Price:
-750 Eur (implant) X 4 = 3000 Eur
-900 Eur (denture with a cast base) X 1 = 900 Eur.
You can also choose a fixed prosthetic solution, for which we need six implants and a metal-ceramic construction with twelve teeth. Price:
-750 Eur (implant) X 6 = 4500 Eur
-420 Eur (crown on implant) X 6 = 2520 Eur
-210 Eur (pontic) X 6 = 1260 Eur.
The price includes all materials and procedures from the beginning to the final result, including temporary replacements. We try to adapt the waiting time to the needs of each individual.

My lower first molar was extracted.
My dentist advised against an implant because, supposedly, the nerve in the jaw is close to the implant site at the first molar and the nerve could be damaged. What is your opinion of this explanation, and is it possible before the procedure to check how much space there is for an implant?

Dear Sir/Madam! Before implantation we always check the anatomical conditions with an X-ray, on which the available distance from the crestal edge to the mandibular canal can be assessed with an accuracy of up to 0.1 mm. Have a nice day!

I am now unsure about the choice of material and would ask for your opinion and arguments regarding ceramic or ordinary plastic, and how much better it is to pay extra for "better metal". I have had my lower teeth crowned for several years; at the time I chose the option provided by the health service with an additional payment for better metal.
I would like you to write a little more about these metals in relation to health and also whether they can affect the taste of food.
Thank you in advance for your answer and kind regards.

Dear Sir/Madam!
The insurance company covers a stellite alloy, which is the most common base for fixed and removable prosthetic constructions, both for services considered standard and for metal-ceramic constructions considered an above-standard service. The alloys are certified and are not considered problematic from the standpoint of allergies and health. You can also choose gold-based alloys, which have a higher redox potential, but they should not have a different effect on the basic characteristics than the metals described above. The essential difference between standard and above-standard constructions lies in the veneering material: plastic materials in basic versions or ceramic in above-standard versions. The difference is aesthetic and functional, since ceramic is not expected to discolor or wear under biting loads.

Hello!
Two weeks ago my dentist extracted 7 roots in the upper jaw, on which I had had a bridge for the last 15 years. I am now completely without teeth in the upper jaw; two days ago I already received a total denture, but I am afraid I will never be able to get used to it, especially because of the palatal support. I would like to know whether it is possible to start the implant placement procedure immediately (either for a removable denture supported by 4 implants or a bridge on 6/8 implants), or whether, because the roots were extracted, it is necessary to wait for some time. I would also like to know how long the waiting period would be in each case.
Thank you for your answer, kind regards!

Dear Sir/Madam!
If the roots were severely diseased (infected) and left a pathological condition in the bone, it is best to wait approximately 3 months before implantation. A temporary denture without a palatal plate can be fixed with special (Mini-Sky) implants that are inserted directly through the soft tissue. If the implant sites are not located directly at the sites of the extracted roots, the surgical procedure can likewise be performed without delay after extraction. Laser therapy (Helbo laser) also accelerates regeneration and healing, so in some cases implantation can be performed immediately after extraction. If you send me an X-ray, I can give you a precise answer.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to know whether white fillings conduct pain or sensitivity more. I would like to replace all amalgam fillings with white ones, and my dentist has already replaced one in a tooth where I had previously felt mild sensitivity. Now the sensitivity is even more pronounced; it feels as if the filling does not seal, and when liquid or food reaches the filling I feel a sharp sensitivity. The dentist then repaired the replaced filling, but the sensitivity is just as pronounced as before the procedure.
Thank you sincerely for your answer and kind regards

Dear Sir/Madam!
The condition you describe is a consequence of irritation of the dental pulp due to mechanical injury (drilling), which cannot be avoided when removing diseased hard tissues, and chemical injury associated with the application of materials. The pulp is in a state of hyperemia, which manifests as severe hypersensitivity to changes in osmotic pressure and temperature. The condition is not determined by the type of filling.

Hello!
I have a gap between my two upper front teeth and also between the canine and first premolar, also in the upper jaw. I would like to know whether this can be corrected or closed without fixed braces. My orthodontist told me that only that option is suitable. Since I would not like to wear fixed braces at the age of 21, I am wondering whether there are other possibilities.
Thank you very much for your answer and kind regards,
Christine Ereiz
Dear Sir/Madam!
The simplest way to correct the aesthetic problem you describe is to build up the dental crowns with composite material. The solution is quick, simple and non-radical (because the hard dental tissues are not damaged), but it may be less durable than aesthetic veneers or crowns. Fabricating these requires grinding the tooth enamel (which is an irreversible event); the procedure is somewhat more expensive, but durable and provides excellent aesthetic results. The textbook procedure is to move the teeth with fixed braces, which your colleague has already explained to you.
Have a nice day!

Dear Sir/Madam! The price of an all-ceramic veneer is 350 Eur. You would need at most four veneers, depending on the position of the teeth and the size of the gaps. Have a nice day!
