I would like to ask for your advice. My upper teeth are already in very poor condition. The upper left wisdom tooth is almost completely black, I no longer have the second and first molars, the second and first premolars have fillings, only half of the canine remains and there is caries, I no longer have the lateral incisor, both central incisors and the right lateral incisor have ten-year-old crowns that are already in very poor condition, there is gangrene in the canine, caries in the first premolar, I no longer have the second premolar and first molar, while the second molar and wisdom tooth have fillings. Because all the teeth are in very poor condition, I am considering an upper complete denture, although I am only 40 years old. Would it be possible at your practice to have the teeth extracted gradually and a complete denture made through health insurance, and what would the waiting time be? Do you also extract wisdom teeth? I am also interested in whether, for an additional payment, it is possible to get so-called 'temporary' teeth before the final denture is made. Thank you for your answer and kind regards.

Dear Madam!
Tooth extraction and fabrication of a complete denture are covered by the insurance. These procedures certainly include extraction of a wisdom tooth as well, provided that we are able to perform it. A temporary denture is of course part of the treatment mentioned, but unfortunately you must cover the cost of making it yourself. The waiting time is currently short (1 month).
Before deciding on this procedure, however, I definitely recommend obtaining another professional opinion regarding the type of prosthodontic treatment. In your place, I would put all my energy and will into a less radical approach, namely making at least a partial removable denture, if not fixed prosthodontics.
Thank you and have a nice day.
