Dear Sir/Madam,
half of my upper front tooth has broken off. Since I work with people, I urgently need to have this repaired. How quickly could I be seen if I come as a private-paying patient?
After that visit, I would like to arrange a complete rehabilitation of my teeth, which are in very, very poor condition. Since youth I have been afraid of dentists and pain, which unfortunately has led to the present state. Since I no longer have most of my posterior teeth (or only parts of them remain), I would like to know about extracting the remaining front teeth and making complete dentures for the upper and lower jaws. I am 35 years old.
Do modern techniques allow „fixed“ attachment so that the dentures are not removable, and an aesthetic appearance to such a degree that it is not immediately obvious that they are dentures? How quickly can everything be completed and how is the interim period managed while the dentures are being made?
I understand that a panoramic X-ray and clinical examination will be required for a complete estimate, but I would like at least an approximate price. Is it possible to combine services under the concession (e.g. extraction and local anesthesia, partial prosthetics), while paying privately for „above-standard“ services? Does this prolong the treatment time?
Thank you very much for your answers!
Kind regards!
Dentist Tomaž Rotar answers:
Dear Sir/Madam!
Repair of an incisor is a relatively quick and simple solution. You can book by telephone. Given the urgency of the service, you would be seen within a few days.
Treatment of an edentulous patient is certainly possible in several ways. The simplest and least expensive solutions are removable prosthetic ones (upper and lower complete dentures). These solutions provide good aesthetic rehabilitation, while functionality depends on many factors that are most often not in our favor.
Treatment with dental implants allows fixed prosthetic solutions for edentulous jaws. Such rehabilitations are aesthetic and much more functional than conventional removable prostheses. They can be divided into implant-supported removable prosthetic restorations (implant-supported dentures) and completely fixed implant-supported bridge constructions. We choose implant-supported dentures when anatomical or social conditions are not sufficient for a relatively large number of implants. In the lower jaw we most often support the denture with two implants, and in the upper jaw with four (the more implants, the greater the stability). Price:
-EUR 750 x 6 = EUR 4,500 (implants) + EUR 710 (denture with cast base) x 2 = EUR 1,420.
For fixed constructions we need a larger number of implants (at least six in each jaw). In this case, the implants most often support a splinted metal-ceramic construction (12 crowns in each jaw; see price list). Dental implant treatment is not covered by ZZZS.
Have a nice day!
