What are the advantages of implants compared with ordinary removable dentures?
Dentist Tomaž Rotar answers:
Denture stability is the greatest problem we have faced since the very beginning of prosthetic tooth replacement. A removable denture that, because of anatomical conditions in the mouth or for other reasons, is not sufficiently stable cannot meet the patient's functional, aesthetic and subjective criteria.
Dental implants solve problems of retention, meaning they attach and hold prosthetic restorations in place even when the patient does not have a sufficient number of natural teeth or natural retention elements. Prosthetic restorations on implants can be removable (dentures), which the patient can still remove at will, or fixed, which remain permanently in the mouth (bridges, crowns). Because of their high stability, these restorations provide functional and aesthetic rehabilitation and, most importantly, occlusal comfort and patient satisfaction.
Have a nice day!
