Hello. Years ago a dentist extracted two teeth from my lower right jaw (I do not know the professional names for them), the 3rd and 4th teeth counting from the back of the mouth toward the middle. This created a huge gap. I had been to the dentist, who had treated both teeth. Of course this gap bothers me a lot, because I have difficulty eating on that side and food literally passes through. Now he has also extracted the last tooth in the lower jaw on the left side, so now I cannot eat on either side. I would like to know approximately how much two new teeth next to each other cost and what this is called — a bridge? Who performs or makes such a procedure? My personal dentist? And one more question: I brush regularly and take care of my teeth, so why does this keep happening to me, why are my teeth literally deteriorating??? I am only 23 years old.
Thank you in advance for your answer!

Dentist Tomaž Rotar answers:
Dear Sir/Madam!
A gap of two consecutive missing teeth can be treated in two fixed-prosthodontic ways.
The most common solution is conventional fixed prosthodontic treatment with a bridge consisting of four new artificial teeth. In this case both adjacent teeth bordering the gap must be prepared, so from this perspective the method is quite radical. The result is quick, reliable and aesthetically flawless. Price: 4 X 210 EUR (metal-ceramic) = 840 EUR.
The second, more modern solution is oral-surgical. Placement of two implants at the sites of the extracted teeth allows replacement of the missing teeth without grinding the hard dental tissues of the neighboring teeth. Price: 750 EUR (implant) X 2 + 420 (crown on implant) X 2 = 2340 EUR.
As to why you have lost the teeth, it would be difficult to answer without an examination and an X-ray.
Have a nice day!
