Hello!
I would be very grateful if you could help me with information regarding the following question.
I am missing both lower first molars. Since it has already been several years, the gum in those areas has become quite thin. I am considering having implants placed. Is that even possible in my situation? When an implant is placed, can there be any reactions, for example can the body recognize it as a foreign body? How much would this treatment cost with you and how long would the whole process take?
I have also heard about orthodontic implants — do you have any information about that? Is it possible to move the second molar together with the wisdom tooth into the place of the first molar?
Thank you in advance for your detailed information.
Dentist Tomaž Rotar answers:
Dear Sir/Madam!
The possibility of implant placement can be assessed by examining a panoramic X-ray. The anatomical conditions in the lower jaw are decisive in such a decision. There are no reactions that would endanger the survival of the implant. Complications after the procedure may include wound infection, pain and problems that should be avoided with proper implant placement.
The implant placement procedure for both first molars would take approximately 45 minutes. After ten days we remove the sutures. The average osseointegration time in the lower jaw is four months. During this entire period the implants are not yet loaded. After four months crowns can be made on the implants. Price: 750 EUR X 2 = 1500 EUR + 420 (crown on implant) X 2 = 840, total = 2340 EUR.
Have a nice day!
