I was diagnosed with periodontal disease affecting the sixth and seventh teeth. A dentist specializing in periodontal diseases told me that, despite treatment, the upper and lower seventh teeth would have to be extracted so that the sixth tooth could heal. Is it really necessary to extract the lower seventh tooth as well? How can you function without the seventh teeth? Can a bridge be made between the sixth tooth/crown and the wisdom tooth? What if I also lose the sixth tooth? What are the options — bridge, implant, etc., what are the prices, what is optimal? I am 45 years old.

If the specialist has decided that the seventh teeth should be removed, you need to trust them. If you wish to replace them, you have two options:
-making a bridge between the sixth and seventh tooth. The longevity of the restoration depends on the longevity of the individual teeth. Both abutment teeth need to be prepared. Price: -210 Eur (porcelain-fused-to-metal crown) X 3 = 630 Eur.
-placement of an implant is certainly a better solution because it avoids preparation of the neighboring teeth, and implant treatments are among the most reliable prosthetic procedures. Price: 750 Eur (implant) + 430 Eur (crown on implant) = 1170 Eur.
