I HAVE CARIES BETWEEN THE UPPER CENTRAL AND LATERAL INCISORS. I NOTICED IT WHEN I LOOKED AT THE BACK OF THE TEETH WITH A SMALL MIRROR. CAN IT BE REMOVED ON THE TWO FRONT TEETH, OR WHAT WILL THEY DO WITH MY TEETH? I AM AFRAID THEY WILL EXTRACT THEM, WHICH I REALLY DO NOT WANT, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I AM SO YOUNG. THANK YOU

Dear Dr Rotar,
I have a problem with the upper lateral incisor. The tooth is non-vital and therefore grey in colour. I would like to know how this can be corrected. Once, I think, my previous dentist injected some substance with a syringe that was supposed to whiten the inside of the tooth so that it would become white again. Is this possible and how much would it cost? Does this reduce the quality or strength of the tooth in any way?
Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

The problem described is best resolved by making a root post and an artificial dental crown. Bleaching alone does not achieve the desired effect, and in addition it carries a risk of fracture of the dental crown and perhaps even loss of the tooth. Price of the proposed procedure: -30 Eur (post) -210 Eur (metal-ceramic crown) or -350 Eur (all-ceramic crown).

I have been without the upper left first premolar for five years because the tooth broke off completely, but the roots are still inside. In the gum at this site I have a small opening from which pus drains. I would like to know, if I had a bridge or dental implant made, whether the roots would need to be removed or whether it would be better to treat them. Is there any other option besides a bridge or implant? What would the treatment procedure be, how quickly would I receive a replacement tooth, and what would the approximate price be? Thank you for your answers. Kind regards!

Dear Sir/Madam!
Based on the clinical picture you describe, I believe it would be appropriate to remove the tooth, although of course a final decision can only be made with X-ray diagnostics. If you decide to replace the tooth, the best solution is a dental implant because this method does not require grinding the neighbouring teeth. Price: -750 Eur (implant) -420 Eur (crown on implant) If you nevertheless decide to have a bridge made: -210 Eur (crown: metal-ceramic) X 3 = 630 Eur You receive a replacement tooth immediately. The price includes all materials and procedures from the beginning to the final result, including a provisional.

Hello! On Friday I had surgical removal of a wisdom tooth at the back on the right (38), which was growing horizontally instead of vertically and was pushing the other teeth forward. The surgeon gave me all the instructions about what to expect. What surprises me is that my face is still swollen since Friday. In the lower part it has even changed colour, blue and yellow. I would not say there is inflammation because only the sutures hurt a little; otherwise I can say that I do not really have pain. I would like to know whether it is normal to still have facial swelling in the area of the lower gum after 5 days and how I can reduce the swelling, since the surgeon recommended cooling only on the first day after the procedure. Thank you very much for your answer.
Dentist Tomaž Rotar answers:iThis question is more than six months old, so the information in the answer may no longer be accurate.
Dear Sir/Madam! The clinical picture you describe five days after the procedure is completely normal. Cooling is most effective immediately after the procedure, which is why you were advised accordingly. I believe you do not need to worry. Have a nice day!

Hello. I am 16 years old and have dental problems. I had an X-ray and it showed that I still have a primary canine on the left side, while the permanent tooth remains in the gum. The orthodontist told me that I have to wear 3 appliances: first a headgear for 6 months, then fixed braces for 2 years, and then another simple appliance. I have problems with the headgear because I have to wear it for at least 16 hours and it is very difficult for me; I have migraines and now my head hurts even more, and I have severe jaw pain. I would like to know whether there is another solution without appliances, some operation or anything else, because it bothers me a lot even though I do not otherwise have pain. Please help me.
Kind regards.

Dear Sir/Madam!
An alternative solution to the problem described is relatively simple and quick. Both the primary tooth and the permanent tooth, which is still deep in the bone, would need to be removed. A screw (implant) is placed in the gap, carrying an artificial crown that aesthetically and functionally completely replaces the permanent canine. The implant can be placed approximately three months after removal of both teeth. After placement, time is needed (approx. three months) for the implant to integrate with the bone (osseointegration), after which it can be loaded with a new crown.

Hello!
I am 25 years old and have serious problems with my teeth. Many have already been treated, but so far every treated tooth has cracked and later had to be extracted. Recently the same happened to my upper left first premolar. The tooth is still present in full, but it is horizontally split in half. My dentist gave me a referral for extraction, but I wonder whether this is really necessary. I would also like to know, if it is extracted, how much an implant at that site would cost and also one at the adjacent second premolar, because that tooth is missing too. What is the price difference if I have a bridge made in this area? I would actually like to have all my teeth treated and book an examination so that you could advise me what would be most worthwhile. Besides these two teeth, I am also missing the upper right second premolar, the lower left first molar and the lower right second molar. How much would implants at all these sites cost? Since I am still a student, I would like to know about payment in instalments, and also how extensive the procedure itself is and how long everything takes. I live in Ljubljana, but your clinic has convinced me the most and I would be willing to travel to Radovljica for examinations and procedures. Thank you in advance for your answers and kind regards!

Dear Sir/Madam! Price for treatment in the upper left: -750 Eur (implant) X 2 = 1500 Eur -420 Eur (crown on implant) X 2 = 840 Eur. In many cases, because of limited space at the site in question, we place only one implant carrying two crowns: -750 Eur (implant) X 1 = 750 Eur -42

Price for treatment in the upper left: -750 Eur (implant) X 2 = 1500 Eur -420 Eur (crown on implant) X 2 = 840 Eur. In many cases, because of limited space at the site in question, we place only one implant carrying two crowns: -750 Eur (implant) X 1 = 750 Eur -420 Eur (crown on implant) X 1 = 420 Eur -210 Eur (crown as a cantilever or pontic) X 1 = 210 Eur The implant-placement procedure takes approx. 35 min. After ten days we remove the sutures. The crowns are fitted after approx. three to four months, for which we need two additional visits. The price includes all materials and procedures from the beginning to the end, including temporary replacements and prior extractions. Price for a bridge at this site: -210 Eur (metal-ceramic crown, porcelain) X 4 = 840 Eur. Payment in instalments is possible. Using the same principle, the prices at the separate sites for the second premolar, first molar and second molar are: -750 Eur (implant) -420 Eur (crown on implant)

Hello! I would like to book an examination, but I am interested in the following. My lower teeth are more or less all right, except probably the second and third molars; on the left they are gone, and on the right one remains but is in poor condition. The upper jaw is in a terrible state. On the left I have a post in the first premolar that still needs to be completed; the first molar is gone, the second molar is present but poor, and the third molar is gone. On the right I have teeth 1, 2, 3 and 4 and then nothing else; the others were extracted because we had planned implants, but then I had financial difficulties and nothing was done. I am now 40 years old and I have had enough.
Please advise what can be done, the approximate price and whether I can pay for the services in instalments. Thank you for your answer and kind regards.
