Anaesthesia in the lower jaw is a nerve block. The anaesthetised area is quite large (the skin of the chin, half of the lower lip, all teeth in the lower jaw on one side, half of the tongue), and the effect lasts several hours. The cause of temporary immobility of half of the face (eye closure) is temporary facial nerve paresis, due to the effect of adrenaline added to the anaesthetic, and it usually resolves before the anaesthetic effect wears off. The condition you describe is something usual five hours after the procedure. Facial nerve paresis is a somewhat rarer occurrence, but it is not a cause for concern. Comparison with the opposite side, where there was apparently nerve damage during extraction (mandibular nerve), is inappropriate for the time being.

Dear Sir/Madam! Most likely the dark amalgam is showing through the dentin and enamel of the tooth. It would certainly be advisable to have an examination and an X-ray; only then could I say with certainty that it is not caries. Have a nice day!

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have quite a few questions:
I would need one tooth extracted in the upper jaw and would replace it with an implant. Is tooth extraction included in the price of the implant? Is it possible to place the implant immediately after extraction?
In addition, I would need two intermediate units and one crown on my own tooth (replacement of the existing ceramic bridge), so altogether:
1x tooth extraction
1x implant
1x crown on implant
2x units (metal-ceramic)
1x crown on my own tooth
I am interested in the final price of this procedure or procedures (with any discounts :)).
The second issue concerns my wife's edentulous upper jaw. The panoramic X-ray shows that there is not much bone for implant placement (this is what one dentist told her). I would like to know whether you place so-called mini implants that could at least support a denture?
Thank you very much for your answer and best regards!

Dear Sir/Madam!
Tooth extraction is included in the price of the implant used to replace the tooth. In some cases direct implantation (immediately after extraction) is possible, but more often we decide on implantation after two to three months.
The price of the procedures you are asking about:
-750 Eur (implant)
-420 Eur (crown on implant)
-210 Eur (crown on tooth or intermediate unit) X 3 = 630 Eur
We can give a 10% discount on the entire treatment.
We can also place four implants in the upper jaw to support a complete denture. The price of the entire procedure is 3900 Eur.

Hello,
I have a slightly unusual question: my upper right lateral incisor is crooked or set back because there is not enough space between the central incisor and canine. I would like to know whether it is possible to grind down this lateral incisor (it is otherwise completely healthy) and then place a crown on it that would not be set back. This would also solve a slight speech defect, because the lateral incisor actually protrudes backward and therefore I pronounce sibilants differently. I have already asked my dentist for an opinion, and she says there is no solution other than braces. I do not want braces; I would like a different solution, which dentists probably do not favour given that the tooth is healthy and there is too little space for it. In my teenage years I wore an external orthodontic appliance for several years, which was supposed to push the second molars backward so that the other teeth would spread out a little and there would be more room, because I have a very narrow jaw. When the other teeth, which had previously been straight, consequently started to become crooked because of the increased spacing (especially the upper central incisors), I became frightened and stopped wearing it. The problem therefore remained unresolved. Because of the lengthy process and high cost, I do not want braces now. Is there any other solution for me? If there is not enough room for a dental crown or another solution, can a dentist extract the healthy lateral incisor? In such a case the teeth would probably spread out a little by themselves over time and the empty space instead of the lateral incisor would be less noticeable? Any advice would be welcome.
Thank you very much in advance!

Dear Sir/Madam! Orthodontic treatment, i.e. braces, is certainly the first and best choice. I also advise against grinding the tooth, but ultimately the decision is yours. It might be worth trying a ceramic veneer. Have a nice day!
