Hello,

I would like to know how much such a procedure costs at your clinic and how long the waiting list is.
This is not really a question, but I would like to praise your “Your Questions” section. Many people only answer emails; the fact that you publish the questions publicly is really great.

Hello, I would like your opinion regarding treatment of a tooth.
I had an inflamed dental pulp and my dentist opened the tooth and placed medication. He also referred me for an X-ray of this tooth.
After about two weeks they removed the nerve and cleaned the canals in the tooth. Everything was great up to this point.
I was a little surprised that the tooth was temporarily closed with a relatively soft filling and that I was not scheduled again for three months (at that time they are supposed to fill the root canals and make the final filling).
After just a few days the temporary filling has almost disappeared; only the tooth crown remains, with a little filling still inside.
I am concerned about the three-month interval between removal of the nerve and the next treatment of the tooth, and about the type of temporary filling.
I would like to know whether this treatment procedure is usual, or what I should do.
Thank you for your answer.
Kind regards

Dear Sir/Madam!
The treatment procedure is entirely usual. If the soft material, which is intended for temporary closure of cavities, wears away or falls out, you can ask your dentist to replace it with a harder material which, at least from the insurance company's point of view, is not standardised (various glass-ionomer cements). A delay between completed treatment and definitive restoration is most often required for safety reasons, because a definitive restoration is relatively difficult to remove if the problem recurs.

Hello!
I have already read quite a few of your opinions and answers and they have clarified many things for me. Now I would like to ask you for a few more explanations.
A few days ago, at one of the Croatian dental clinics, I received an estimate for implant treatment of the upper jaw because, in their assessment, the teeth under my current bridge are completely destroyed and everything would have to be removed. I have a bridge in two parts across the entire upper jaw.
The estimate includes six implants with the procedure itself, suturing, prescriptions, impression taking, convertible abutments, a temporary denture, a Toronto bridge, screws for the Toronto bridge, Toronto cylinders and healing abutments (I do not know what these are). Altogether it comes to EUR 7600.
The price is probably quite reasonable. How much would this cost at your clinic? I am still more interested in having this kind of service in Slovenia. Only if the difference were too large, then...
But now that I have learned what my condition is, I have started looking into everything more. This is how I also came across the All-on-4 procedure, which seems much more affordable here too, if I understood correctly.
I would like to know in what way conventional implantation (which I described above) is better than All-on-4. Does the latter have a shorter “lifespan”? What is the subsequent maintenance like with one procedure or the other? What do you recommend? Do you also perform All-on-4? How long is the waiting time?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Dear Sir/Madam!
The number of dental implants is selected according to the conditions in the jaw: size of the arch, bone quality, available bone volume, type of restoration that the implants would support... Six implants in the upper jaw is the usual number supporting a fixed construction. Four implants in the upper jaw usually support a removable construction (i.e. a denture), although under certain conditions they may also support a fixed one. The treatment time, surgical method, maintenance method, etc. do not depend on the number of implants placed. Price of the procedure:
Fixed construction on six implants:
-EUR 750 (implant) X 6 = EUR 4500
-EUR 420 (crown on implant) X 6 = EUR 2520
-EUR 210 (pontic) X 6 = EUR 1260
Total: EUR 8280 - 10% = EUR 7400
The price includes all procedures from the beginning to the final result, including the temporary restoration (everything you listed yourself).
Fixed construction on four implants:
-EUR 750 (implant) X 4 = EUR 3000
-EUR 420 (crown on implant) X 4 = EUR 1680
-EUR 210 (pontic) X 8 = EUR 1680
Total: EUR 6360 -10 % = EUR 5700
We try to adapt the waiting time to the individual and their needs.

Dear Sir/Madam!
As you have already realised yourself, the tooth should be replaced. You have two options:
-making a bridge, which requires preparing two adjacent teeth and making three crowns. The retained root would first need to be extracted. Price:
EUR 210 (metal-ceramic crown) X 3 = EUR 630 or EUR 350 (all-ceramic crown—zirconia) X 3 = EUR 1050.
-placement of a dental implant. Price: EUR 750 (implant) + EUR 420 (crown on implant) = EUR 1170. With this procedure the adjacent teeth are left untouched, which is certainly better than in the first option.

Hello, I went to the emergency dental clinic because of tooth pain, where the dentist found deep caries and temporarily closed the tooth. According to her, she placed some medication to devitalise the nerve. She mentioned filling the root canals and also said that the procedure with her could take a very long time, and she advised me to go private. It is the upper first molar. After a few days the tooth hurts in the evenings, analgesics do not help, and the pain feels as if the tooth were going to burst....
I have had some bad experiences with injections and similar procedures and with our dentists. They say I should not feel anything, yet the procedures are very painful, so I would rather leave the work to a specialist...
I would like to know the approximate price for such treatment, because I know it is not exactly cheap.
I am 30 years old.
Thank you very much for your help!

Hello! When I was younger (8 years old), I injured both upper central incisors. Both teeth were already permanent and I knocked them into the jaw, damaging the roots. The teeth were then pulled back out and treated, but unsuccessfully. I was told that at age 18 the teeth would be extracted and replaced with implants. However, the remaining roots were still in acceptable condition, so I kept the teeth, but the roots are slowly resorbing. I am currently 19 (almost 20). I would like to know whether I would have to pay for the implants entirely myself or whether the insurance company would reimburse part of the cost. I would also like to know how the procedure works, or how long it takes after removal of my teeth until I receive the implants.

Dear Sir/Madam!
In the case described, the implants would probably need to be placed with a time delay after extraction (approximately 2 months). After implant placement, immediate fitting of crowns is possible, but certain conditions must be met (good primary stability of the implant...). Otherwise, or in the case of extensive bone augmentation, it is necessary to wait an additional four months before fitting crowns on the implants. Price of the procedure:
-EUR 750 (implant) X 2 = EUR 1500
-EUR 420 (crown on implant) X 2 = EUR 840
Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question regarding reimbursement by the insurance company.
