Hello. I need to have the lower central incisors and one lateral incisor extracted, and then I will get a bridge. Until everything heals I need a temporary replacement. My dentist offered me two options: a removable small denture that I would get the same day, or a fixed one that she would fit after about a week or more, as she said. I would like to know which option is better and works better. She did not recommend anything specific, only told me to decide. Of course I would like the replacement as soon as possible, and I would also like to know how the removable one works; otherwise I have to wait at least a week for the fixed one. Financially, she said the cost is the same. What do you recommend? Thank you for your answer. Regards, Ksenija

Dear Sir/Madam! If possible, it is better to wear a fixed temporary restoration. Have a nice day!

The canines will certainly move toward the positions of the lateral incisors, but the movement will not be sufficient for the teeth to come into contact. In the case you describe, combined treatment is the most appropriate:
orthodontic treatment with fixed braces would move the canines into the correct position, leaving an empty space for the lateral incisors, which would then be replaced with dental implants.

Dear Sir/Madam!
Every dental implant has to be inserted (screwed into the bone). There are different approaches, and everyone interprets the term surgery in their own way.
Every implantation requires local anaesthesia, sterile preparation of the operating field, an operator, assistants, surgical instruments... Broadly speaking, the approaches can be divided into two groups:
-opening a mucoperiosteal flap, which means that the gum is reflected slightly and the bone ridge and surrounding area are monitored during the procedure
-placement without opening a mucoperiosteal flap, i.e. directly through the gum, which in some cases includes computer-guided navigation of the implantation.
The decision about the procedure is ultimately up to the operator, who will always choose the most appropriate method based on a very large number of factors. Unfortunately, the term placement without surgery is used too misleadingly, especially for commercial purposes.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am contacting you because my current dentist and I cannot agree on this issue. A year ago I received 6 crowns in the upper jaw on teeth 1-2-3 (left and right), on my prepared teeth or on previously inserted "posts". The crowns were made as a single unit, although I objected to this. In any case, after a few months one of the crowns began to move. I notice this when I move these crowns back and forth with my fingers. The movement is not visible, but I can feel it and I can also hear one of the crowns "clicking". The problem is that I cannot determine exactly which crown no longer fits properly or why it is moving at all. I assume it is the upper right 1 or 2, which has partially come loose but is still in place because the other crowns do not allow it to move further.
My dentist does not notice this and says everything is OK, which is true, but only visually. I suppose this may also be a warranty issue.
I would like to know whether there is any way (X-ray, etc.) to determine which crown is no longer holding. I would also like to know whether these crowns, or the affected crown, can be partially removed and a new one made, or whether all 6 have to be removed.
Could I come to you (as a self-paying patient, of course) for an examination and perhaps an agreement on how to resolve this problem, because I can no longer tolerate the occasional unpleasant "clicking".
Thank you for your answer and kind regards!

Dear Sir/Madam!
The case you describe can sometimes be difficult to unravel, especially if the phenomenon is not apparent in the dental office but you notice it while chewing. X-rays usually show nothing, even when there are serious injuries such as a root fracture. Problems would only become visible on the images after some time, when changes develop in the periodontal tissues (bone). If one of the crowns had to be repaired (recementation of the crown or post), it would not be necessary to remove the entire restoration, only the part on the affected tooth, because the construction can be separated cleanly. If you would like to arrange an examination, you can call me so that we can coordinate an appointment more easily.

Dear Sir/Madam! A white filling can be loaded immediately after it is made, unlike an amalgam filling, which continues to set for some time. We definitely recommend flossing, and using an interdental brush is even better. Have a nice day!

Dear Sir/Madam!
There are several solutions:
-building up the dental crowns with composite material. The procedure is simple and reversible. Composites may become discoloured over time or come off under greater loads, but the procedure is simple and inexpensive: 2 x EUR 65.
-Making aesthetic veneers is an irreversible procedure, because minimal grinding of the tooth enamel on the front surface of the crown is required. The result is durable and aesthetically excellent. Price: EUR 350 X 2 = EUR 700
-Making artificial dental crowns requires more extensive grinding of the enamel. The result is durable, aesthetically refined and stable. Price: EUR 350 (all-ceramic crown).

Dear Sir/Madam! The spots are simply the result of various deposits accumulating on the enamel surface, particularly at the border between the adhesive and the tooth surface. We usually remove this type of discoloration by air polishing. Have a nice day!

Hello,
I have lost my lower first molar. Since I do not want metal restorations in my mouth, my dentist offered me an all-ceramic Maryland bridge for a little over EUR 2,000. Since this seems expensive to me, I would like to know whether such a price is usual. And, of course, whether these bridges are a good choice. I have fillings in the neighbouring teeth, and with this type of bridge substantially less of the adjacent teeth is ground down than with "conventional" bridges. What would be another suitable option? What is the price of a conventional all-ceramic bridge?
I also have another dead tooth in my mouth that I would like to have removed (it has been dead for 20 years), because apparently all dead teeth in the mouth represent a kind of focus of infection. My dentist is also of this opinion and says the tooth should be removed. Do you share this opinion?
I kindly ask for your answer and send you my regards.

Dear Sir/Madam!
The bridge you describe is certainly one of the options. With a conventional bridge, both neighbouring teeth must be ground down extensively, whereas with an adhesive bridge this can be avoided. Personally, however, I would recommend a dental implant, because I believe that in the first-molar position an adhesive bridge will not meet the requirements for strength and stability. The price of an adhesive Maryland bridge in our practice is EUR 350.
The accepted doctrine in Slovenia and throughout the European Union does not require removal of appropriately treated dead teeth. Of course, in many cases the criteria for adequate root canal treatment cannot be met, and then we recommend extraction of the tooth.

Dear Sir/Madam!
The implant can be placed immediately after extraction or after a delay of three months. The decision depends on the condition of the bone, the degree of inflammation, bone damage during extraction... If you can send me an X-ray, I will be able to answer this part of the question more easily. The price of the entire procedure, regardless of whether the implant is placed immediately or later, is:
-EUR 750 (implant)
-EUR 420 (crown on implant)
The price includes all materials and procedures from the beginning to the final result, including extraction.
