Hello,
I would like to know how long the waiting time is for an appointment with you and whether you are accepting new patients at all. My dentist retired and I am currently without a dentist, but I urgently need one. I have had upper teeth 1 and 2 extracted and lower tooth 1, and I only have a removable denture. My teeth are very poor because I have periodontal disease, so the other front teeth in the upper and lower jaws are already very protruded, and I would like to have them extracted as well. I would also like to know the approximate price for 5 upper teeth and 5 lower teeth, the front teeth of course, with a new denture. How long would I need to get all this done? Thank you in advance.

The question is very complex, at least as far as solving problems of the periodontal tissues is concerned. Prosthetic work also differs greatly from case to case. We can give you answers to your questions after a prior clinical examination and after an orthopantomogram (panoramic X-ray) has been made. Please call 04/5300660 or 040294488 to make an appointment. We always accept new patients.

Hello!
Perhaps my question will sound a little strange, but I would like to know the following. My upper second premolar was left open for some time (my filling fell out), and when I came to the dentist she gave me two injections for pain, but it still hurt far too much (before that I had no pain at all). Now I do not know whether she does not know how to give injections or whether the problem is with me (I have a very strong fear of the dentist). I would like to know whether there is any possibility of having fillings done under general anaesthesia (the dentist says that fillings on four teeth should be repaired). If this can be done, is it possible with a referral (free of charge), or does treatment under general anaesthesia have to be paid for? If it has to be paid for, could you please at least give me an approximate price?
Thank you for your answer and kind regards.

Dear Sir/Madam!
Treatment under general anaesthesia is certainly reserved for the most severe cases of treating patients who would otherwise be unable to cooperate during procedures. Extreme fear could also be considered one of these reasons, but I recommend that you try the conventional approach once more. Treatment under local anaesthesia is virtually painless. Root canal treatment requires several stages and is therefore impossible to perform under the conditions of general anaesthesia.

Unfortunately, the issue of payment for the service always arises. If the insurance company does not pay for it, the patient pays for it themselves. It sounds harsh. Come for an examination; perhaps we can fix a small issue for you, just for a little smile. Officially, we are no longer required to accept patients at the expense of the insurance company. There is no waiting time for self-pay treatment.

Hello Dr. Tomaž Rotar,
I would like to ask for your opinion regarding my tooth. A year and a half ago I had a granuloma on the upper left first molar; it was filled in three canals. During treatment, my left cheek was usually swollen. For the last six months I have noticed frequent pain and inflammation in my left ear and on the left side of my temple, as well as slight throbbing in the non-vital tooth (the first molar), most often at night, and inflamed gum on the inner side of the molar (the gum is dark red only in this area and is receding inward). I went to the dentist who treated the tooth; he took an X-ray and says he sees nothing unusual. At my request, he partially removed the filling and found a piece of a broken filling in the tooth. He scheduled a check-up after one month, but the condition did not improve significantly. He opened the tooth and cleaned one canal and says that he sees nothing unusual. Now the tooth does not hurt every day, but occasionally (a few times a week) I feel slight pressure, slight throbbing and itching. After these procedures, the tooth will need to be restored with a post and an artificial crown. But I am in doubt and worried about what to do, because I feel that something is happening with the tooth. So far I have not received clear guidance from the dentist on how to solve the problem.
I would be very grateful if you could tell me more or suggest something based on what I have written to you.
Thank you very much and kind regards,
Anita

We do not provide orthodontic appliances, but we can arrange teeth whitening. We use various methods. Chemical whitening performed in the dental office rather than at home and not based on acidic gels is the most commonly used. It costs 250 Eur. We look forward to your visit!

While waiting for the dentist, the remaining part of the tooth broke off as well, so there is currently no visible part of the tooth left (only a little at the enamel margin); I have no pain. Because the tooth is practically open like this, I would like to know whether this is considered an emergency. Do I need an examination? Do I need an implant? What are the waiting times? And what is the price — is there a discount for students?
Thank you for your answer, kind regards.

If the tooth is open and communicates with the root canal, this is certainly unfavourable for treatment and for a good long-term prognosis. In this case, the root canal treatment must first be completed. If the tooth already has a filled root canal, then the surrounding area does not communicate with the bone beneath the tooth. In this case, the tooth needs to be restored with a radicular post and a crown. If the tooth were actually lost for the reasons stated above, then the first treatment of choice is placement of an implant. Prices: radicular post 30, crown 210, implant 900 + abutment with tooth 450 EUR.

My question is a little different, but still... I have very strong bad breath, even though I brush my teeth regularly and also use mouthwash (because of this problem; I never used it before), but after a very short time the terrible bad breath returns. I read somewhere in a health magazine that some people have more pronounced bad breath than others and that it cannot be treated medically, only by brushing more frequently and using mouthwash. I would also like to know whether the reason could be that I perhaps have cavities and that this would consequently make my breath smell bad.
Thank you very much for your answer, Tina

Dear Madam,
Most often (in 80% of cases), bad breath is caused by deposits on the root of the tongue. Special tongue scrapers, available in pharmacies, are used to clean the tongue. The use of mouthwash is undesirable in this case, because it changes your breath only for a short time, while on the other hand its long-term use leads to changes in your saprophytic bacterial flora, meaning the bacteria in the mouth that help prevent pathogenic bacteria from becoming established. It is precisely this imbalance that leads to pathological or unpleasant breath. Only in a smaller proportion of cases are the causes of bad breath disease processes in the mouth: deep caries and food retention in a cavity, deep periodontal pockets, abscesses... In any case, I recommend that you visit a dentist.
