Dear Sir/Madam,
because I do not want a denture, my dentist advised dental implants. First she still needs to remove tartar from my lower jaw, after which she will refer me to a periodontist in Ljubljana. Depending on the periodontist's assessment, I will then decide between a denture and implants. This should be completed in approximately two months. I am asking about payment for the implants — I saw the price in one of your answers — and whether there is an option to pay in instalments by card.
Thank you very much in advance for your answer.

Implants are usually paid for at the stage when the sutures are removed. Each implant has a five-year guarantee against loss unless, because of relative contraindications (smoking ...), we agree otherwise. Payment in instalments by card is possible, as is payment by bank transfer or cash. In the case of a larger number of implants, we can agree on a discount. Before the procedure you receive an exact quotation from which we must not deviate because of unforeseen situations.

Last week I went to the emergency dental service and they could not help me because I could not calm down at all. They therefore advised me to find a dentist who could treat my teeth under general anaesthesia. I would need two fillings and probably one tooth extracted. What are the possibilities for putting me to sleep and doing this treatment? I am from Kranj and would gladly come to you if such a procedure is possible. I would also like to know the approximate price. If you do not perform this, could you recommend one of your colleagues in the Gorenjska area? Thank you very much in advance for your answer.
Kind regards, Dejan

Dear Sir!
You apparently suffer from extreme anxiety or fear of the dentist. The signs you describe are a consequence of negative emotions before or during procedures. Dental treatment under general anaesthesia is possible, but procedures carried out in such a state are strictly radical (procedures completed in one phase and not requiring repetitions or continuation in a second phase): tooth extraction, filling. Root canal treatment and prosthodontic rehabilitation are not feasible in this case. In any event, before treatment under general anaesthesia we would try treatment under the influence of sedatives and tranquillizers, because so far we have always managed to complete treatment in this way.
I would like to know how much nerve removal and local anaesthesia cost... Can the procedure still be painful despite local anaesthesia? Thank you for your answer

Hello,
because of damaged bone, after deep scaling my gum receded and I now have spaces or little 'holes' between the teeth. The periodontist believes that any addition or closing of the spaces would further worsen the condition of the gums because cleaning would become more difficult. Apparently only orthodontic treatment would be suitable, but this is expensive and takes a long time. However, I cannot accept the current appearance. I would like to know whether in my case 'adding to and reshaping the teeth with composite materials' could be an option. What does this look like? What would you recommend?
Thank you for your answer and kind regards,
Suzana

Dear Madam!
The periodontist's opinion should certainly be respected and trusted. To a certain extent, the interdental spaces can be reshaped and partly closed, but this must in no way affect food retention in the interdental spaces. The teeth can be reshaped with composite materials, which usually meets patients' aesthetic expectations, but the materials are slightly porous, so after a longer period fractures and discolouration of the material can be expected. I could give you a more precise opinion after a clinical examination.

Dear Sir/Madam!
There are several solutions for the problem described:
-if the veneer is not too damaged, it can be bonded back to the metal framework, with both contact surfaces requiring chemical treatment. -if the veneer cannot be returned to its original position, a new veneer can be made on the existing framework from composite materials. -if the first two options are not feasible, an individual cap can be made from ceramic or plastic materials and cemented onto the existing framework -of course, the entire construction of the affected tooth or group of teeth can also be replaced if it is a bridge and the damaged tooth was made as a pontic.

Hello,
Because of my fear of dentists, the condition in my mouth is terrible. In the upper right, the filling fell out of my first premolar and then almost the entire tooth chipped away. Only the inner side remains, plus a small amount on the visible outer side. Of the upper second molar I only have the root left. How long would it take to make an implant for the upper first premolar and what would the total cost be?
In the lower left, my first and second molars are badly damaged. Half of the first molar is missing and the other half is partly filled. The second molar is practically destroyed. What can be done?
Which costs could be covered by health insurance? Does the amount depend on the number of teeth and the age of the insured person?
What is the current waiting time and what are the payment terms?
Thank you for your answer!

Dear Sir/Madam!
Before looking for a solution using implants, I would point out that, judging from your description of the fracture, the first premolar may still be salvageable with root canal treatment and fabrication of a root post and crown. The price of the procedure in this case is 240 Eur. If you are certain that the prognosis for treating the tooth is poor and have decided on its extraction, an implant is of course an excellent solution. The surgical procedure takes one hour, and the sutures are removed after ten days. Osseointegration (integration of the implant with the bone) takes half a year, after which the implant can be loaded with a dental crown. The price of the procedure is 1320 Eur (including the prosthetic restoration). ZZZS does not cover the costs of implantology. The decision regarding treatment or extraction of the lower teeth would be made after reviewing an X-ray.

Dear Sir/Madam!¨
Minor fractures of dental crowns can be repaired relatively easily. They are built up with composite materials, which provides good aesthetic and functional rehabilitation. The price of the procedure per tooth is 65 Eur. We do not provide orthodontic treatment ourselves (moving teeth with braces), but we cooperate with a good orthodontist in the same premises.

Dear Madam! We can decide on the type and suitability of treatment much more quickly if you already have a panoramic X-ray. We cannot take that type of image with our equipment. To arrange an examination date, please call 04/5300660 or 040294488. We look forward to your visit!

Hello,
because of an illness (an eating disorder), my teeth have begun to crumble and have been attacked by caries. I fill the small holes with Super Attack glue so that they are less visible. The teeth are of course completely unusable, and I would need a complete denture. I have not been to a dentist for about 15 years — I am afraid of dentists, and I am also ashamed that someone will see up close the terrible state of my teeth, or what is left of them. I would like to know how quickly you can extract the teeth and make a denture. I am also interested in how much a temporary denture costs, because I cannot go to work without any teeth at all (I am constantly in contact with people), how quickly it can be made and what the costs are. I would also like to know the approximate cost of the extractions and of a complete denture. When I gather enough courage and money, I will come to see you.
P.S. I would also like to know what it means to be registered with a dentist and which costs are then covered by insurance if it is clear that the teeth really cannot be saved, and what the waiting time at your practice would be in that case. Of course I would then be very interested in the price of a temporary denture as well, because perhaps I could find the courage to come sooner if I needed less money for the treatment.
Thank you very much for everything,
Nina

Dear Madam!
I strongly advise against the procedures you describe carrying out on your own teeth. From what I have been able to understand, your first and biggest problem is taking the first step toward treatment of your teeth and oral cavity. I advise you to do so as soon as possible. The procedures are simple, quick, painless and give obvious results. At the first visit we would prepare a treatment plan, take an X-ray and provide an exact cost estimate for the services. We can extract the teeth as soon as we have a clear X-ray, and you can receive a temporary denture in as little as two days. The price of a complete denture is EUR 500. Being registered with a doctor or dentist means choosing that person as your personal therapist. With that dentist, subject to the waiting times, you are entitled to the services described in the green book.
